Federal Grants/Loan/Loan Guarantee Applications  – if a business or non-profit seeks to access federal funds, the granting agency requires a completed application with details of the intent and outcome of proposed funding. Operational Assessments – are an in-depth review of all-senior management, and depending on size, at least representative samples of employee groups. Self Studies – are usually undertaken when a business or organization has reached a "critical mass" and wants to explore how it is viewed both internally and externally as it takes on new functions and direction. These studies tend to be more prevalent in non-profit organizations, but are useful in business as well.
